FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Why are the skill sets of decluttering and organizing important?
A. Organizing and Decluttering are essential life skills that can enhance your home, benefit work and make every activity or task that you do easier. These skills increase your clarity which in turn allows you to do more in less time. These skill sets move you back into having choices as well as creating a home that you love, and a life you love living.
Life changes all the time. Whether you are getting married, having children, raising children, changing interests, downsizing, moving or traveling, any event in your life is better without clutter and everything you do is much easier if you have a few tried and tested organizing systems that work for you.
Q2. How often do I have to declutter before I start to get organized?
A. This depends on how much clutter and disorganization you have, which decluttering method you choose and how much you want to do initially. The BeFree system is flexible and you can choose to spend minutes, hours or a day working on your clutter free and organized home and lifestyle. The Clutter Free and Organizing Keys can be used with everything you do making it easy to shift to the clutter free mind set even when you are not actively organizing or decluttering. This system can be integrated into the busiest lifestyle and gives you the tools to become clutter free and organized forever.
Q3. Should I always declutter before I organize?
A. Yes! Decluttering creates space, puts you into the decision making process and forces you to get clear on your preferences. Shifting into the clutter free mind set always makes organizing easier because any clutter by nature is chaotic, confusing and distracts you from your purpose. Without the clutter free mind set and the clarity to only keep what you love and use, you may end up organizing things you don’t need which doesn’t give you back your space, time or energy.
Q4. What is the clutter free mind set?
A. The clutter free mind set is when you leave your clutter accumulating excuses behind and shift your beliefs about how you acquire your possessions and what you own. This shift is accelerated with the five universal Be Clutter Free Decision Making Keys, five Befree Organizing Keys and five BeFree Storage Keys.
These Keys unlock the mystery of decluttering and organizing and can be used for any tasks big or small. They immediately create clarity, calm and shift you to a can do attitude. This empowering attitude will add momentum to any goal or aspiration you have as they inspire you to create new personal standards, reconnect to your values and create a home that works with your life making things easier, not more difficult and time consuming.
Q5. What do you mean when you say decluttering and organizing can create success?
A. The decluttering skill sets put you in a place of being able to make quick decisions in the present, set quality standards and take action. It allows you to get rid of clutter and minimize the distractions that take you off tack or off purpose.
Organizing creates the order and efficiency that allows you to set and achieve goals and take advantage of every opportunity life hands you. Once you apply the BeFree Keys and methods you will find your thinking is clearer, your energy better and your motivation sky high. This is because taking even a few minutes a day to declutter and organize gets you started on being in control of your life and increases your peace of mind.
Q6. Can I make money from decluttering and being organized?
A. Absolutely! Becoming clutter free automatically shifts you into an abundant mind set and sets a foundation for creating financial order, shifting money blocks, setting and achieving financial goals. It also creates the space and time to make financial changes, learn ways to create more income and manage the money you have better.
A few of the benefits some of my clients have experienced becoming clutter free and organized include, saving money by eliminating double buying or overbuying, eradicating late charges, to getting clutter free and organized to create a home business.
The clutter free changes have been as small as saving $100 a week on groceries and shopping to making thousands of dollars from selling clutter to creating multiple streams of income.
Q7. Is learning to declutter, organize and energize my home and my life easy to do?
A. Yes it is. It is so easy and exciting when you start to take those first steps. Decluttering, organizing and energizing can take seconds, minutes, a half hour or a morning depending on what you want to do. One of my beliefs is that the smallest action can create massive change. I call it the domino or ripple effect. One small pebble thrown into the water creates a ripple which spreads bigger and bigger. For every piece of clutter you let go of your life becomes easier and there is less to distract you from your purpose, eat up your time and money. It is up to you to decide how quickly you want to achieve your clutter free home. It is a flexible, creative journey.
Q8. How does decluttering and organizing make me more creative?
A. By organizing and streamlining your home and your workload you can reduce or eliminate the distractions, negativity and disorder caused by clutter and disorganization and immediately begin to strongly focus on what you want to create. This allows you to detail a vision for your home and your life, positively apply the Law of Attraction and create an organized home that supports a creative life.
Creating an organized environment that supports you instead of working against you will free your imagination to tap into the wonderful creative subconscious we all have. You will find as clutter leaves your life and you organize to create physical and mental order those “Aha” moments, synchronicity, and opportunities start to appear in your life and the focus and flow that creativity creates.
Q9. What is energizing and is it important?
A. Energizing is the icing on the cake and the fun part of the process. It is making small simple changes to improve the look and feel of your home, in other words creating a good atmosphere or energy that makes you feel really comfortable and happy to be in that space, designing an uncluttered space that works for you and visually adding elements that you really love to look at.
Energizing is taking it to another level by consciously designing an uncluttered organized space that looks as good as it feels from the inside out. This can be as simple as visually adding elements that you really love to look at and that inspire you; cleaning, decorating, re-arranging furniture and using simple elements of Feng Shui to contribute to an uplifting and inspiring atmosphere.
Q10. Why is your book different from other books on decluttering and organizing?
My book is the only one on this subject that contains three books in one, with clear sections on decluttering, organizing and energizing your home and your life. I separate decluttering and organizing into different skill sets with the Five BeFree Clutter Free Decision Making Keys for clearing clutter, the Five BeFree Organizing Keys for creating order and the Five BeFree Storage Keys for creating beautiful spaces for your possessions. This is how I personally shifted into a clutter free life. I wanted a system that was simple, quick and inspirational and something I could fit into my busy days. I couldn’t find one so I wrote my book.
I initially decluttered and organized my home to clear out truckloads of junk but the process led me to make thousands of dollars from my clutter, receive thousands of dollars in gifts from people who I had gifted with my clutter (remember one person’s trash is another person’s treasure), released enough energy and creativity to write several books and create an internet business which all started with me asking how to turn on the computer (no kidding, I didn’t know how!) and create an environment that is wonderful for my entire family to live in.
That is why I say you discover long lost treasures on this journey. It isn’t just rediscovering possessions you love, it can be discovering talents you never knew you had, reconnecting to loved ones in better ways, rediscovering your values and surrounding yourself with what you find inspirational and beautiful. So Declutter BeFree, it’s a wonderful journey.
